Ohemartin, a Ghanaian transgender woman, has revealed that she always dresses like a man to go to church.
The popular Ghanaian transgender who identifies as a woman, known in real life as Emmanuel Hughes, said she wears male attire to church because she wants to be seen in her natural state.
When I go to church, I just wear my joggers and a shirt. For the church, I dress like a man. I do this because I simply want to be in my natural state. “Women, too, have raw states,” she said in an interview.
Delay then quoted Deuteronomy 22:5 from the Bible, which states, ‘A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God.’
“I have read that section of the Bible, but as I previously stated, God knows everything,” Ohemartin spoke up.
Ohemartin went on to say that she is uncomfortable discussing Christian issues because it is a very complicated subject.
“I go to church frequently.” However, when we discuss Christianity as a topic, I believe that many people want to involve God in issues such as how people should act or who they choose to sleep with.
It’s very uncomfortable, and that’s wrong because God says in the Bible to come as you are, not as you pretend,” she said.
