The Police in Bayelsa State, (southern part of Nigeria) on Monday rescued a 14-year-old girl from two teenagers who were reportedly trying to use her for money rituals.
After a brief search in the early hours of January 3, the two boys who are between the ages of 15 – 17 were found in Sagbama Federated village in Sagbama Local Government Area.
The stated plan was to lure the girl to an unfinished structure where they would carry out the operation, but their luck ran out when they were spotted by a passerby who suspected their ‘evil’ movements.
Angry residents subjected these boys to severe beatings before they were handed to authorities. It has also been reported that one of the youngsters is the son of the traditional king of the Amanana-owei village.
Meanwhile, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Bayelsa State Police Spokesperson, SP Butswat Asinim as of the time of filing this report.
