TT is an elderly man and deserves respect- Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson, a Ghanaian actress, has defended veteran actor Psalm Ajetefio (TT) in the wake of the “plead for leftovers” scandal that has rocked the country in recent days.

On January 11th, the “Taxi Driver” actor was recorded in a three-minute audio pleading with Media Personality, MzGee, to help him with some “leftovers” from her kitchen because of the support he had been receiving from individuals had ceased following Vice-President Bawumia’s public donation to him.

The audio leak raised numerous questions about how TT spent the numerous donations he had received from well-wishers, including the GHC 50,000 Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia had given him for his welfare.

Yvonne Nelson stated during an interview on Accra FM on Thursday, January 20, in response to the news of TT:

“I’m sorry, and I’ll be praying for him; it’s already happened, and how we deal with it [is critical].” When dealing with people who have health problems, people must exercise extreme caution… “You can have a lot of money, $100,000 in your account, but if you get sick and spend all of it on your health, it doesn’t mean you’re broke or anything; it just means you need people to help you,” she explained.

TT, according to Yvonne, may have spent the majority of the money he received on his health, so he should be forgiven.

“What if he had money and spent it all on his health?” It can happen to any of us, we don’t know what the future holds, so maybe he did a few things here and there that people are questioning, but this is someone who needs help, so if you know you’re not going to give it to him, he’s an elderly man, show him some respect,” she said.

Yvonne went on to express the importance of compassion, stating that failing health can happen to anyone.

“I have no idea what the future holds for me; I have no idea what will happen in the future, and I can’t even judge anyone.” You can have a million dollars and spend it all on surgery or dialysis or whatever, so let’s not be harsh, let’s have a heart and know-how to address some of these issues because it could happen to you, a family member, or mother, or anyone close to you that you love,” she concluded.
