Tema-based rapper Sarkodie, known for his introspective and thought-provoking lyrics, has finally broken his silence about his diss track aimed at ex-girlfriend and actress Yvonne Nelson.
In an exclusive interview with Angele Yee for her podcast Way Up, Sarkodie explained that the song was a response to his perception that Yvonne Nelson’s tell-all memoir had distorted the truth.
While he admitted to occasionally addressing public issues through his music, Sarkodie expressed his disappointment that they couldn’t have had a conversation to resolve the situation.
He also wanted to dispel the notion that he would remain silent when false accusations were made against him. Sarkodie firmly denied that anyone on his team knew about the song before its release, and he claimed that it was leaked despite his intentions.
The award-winning musician’s interview provides insight into his artistic process and the motivations behind his music.
