The NPP’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, stated that the 120,000ghc supposedly presented by the Chief of Staff to MP for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, was a birthday gift.
He argues that the money deposited into the MP’s account is personal money from the Chief of Staff.
Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong told Asaase Radio on Tuesday that he was given the money by Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare in order for the government to approve the planned e-levy.
Abronye DC, on the other hand, alleged that the money was given to Adwoa Safo as a “birthday gift” by the Chief of Staff, Abronye DC.
It hasn’t been planned for her to return to Ghana since she [Adwoa Safo] contacted the Chief of Staff to inform him that she was celebrating her birthday without a gift. So, it’s a personnel present from the Chief of Staff,” he explained in Twi to Kofi Adoma Nwanwani.
He added that the money was given in cedis, thus anyone saying otherwise is lying. CACG has also demanded an investigation into the claims made by the Assin Central MP.
