Hamamat Montia, a Ghanaian model and entrepreneur, has been characterized as one of the most successful models who has stayed true to her roots and used her enterprises to promote Ghanaian culture around the world.
Hamamat began her career as a model, winning Miss Malaika in 2006 and Model of Africa Universe in 2007.
She is from Bolgatanga in Ghana’s Upper East area, although she received her secondary education at Achimota School.
The mother of two has had a few unsuccessful relationships in the past, but she has never let them define her.
Hamamat, who is currently 34 years old, runs a flourishing business in her hometown, selling shea butter, organic soap, and other products created by the women she employs in Ghana.
Hamamat Montia has come a long way since winning Miss Malaika 2006 at the age of 18 and is now one of the persons we look up to when we talk about being natural and African.
She moved back to her village following her divorce and became extremely poor, to the point that she couldn’t afford to live in the city with her two children. She began to feel better about herself after immersing herself in the tribe and accepting herself as one of them.
When she was preparing shea butter with her family, she took a video and uploaded it online, and it became viral for some reason, to the point where people began ordering shea butter from her.
She took advantage of the opportunity and founded Hamamat African Beauty, which today provides 100 percent natural, raw goods created in Ghana. Safari Shea Butter, Golden Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, African Black Soap, Shea Butter Soap, and Tongo Body Scrub are among the products she offers around the world.
