One of the world’s largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal, and benevolent organizations is Freemasonry.
Its members come from all areas of life and meet as equals regardless of their creed, ethnic group, or social status.
Their major goals are to raise finances mostly via voluntary donations, to help individual members, local communities, and worldwide emergencies.
Prominent and prominent Ghanaians have joined the Freemasons and follow its ideals and traditions.
Some of these important men and women work in politics, the health care industry, law, urban planning and architecture, the judiciary, and other fields.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor is a Freemason and the Senior Grand Warden of the United Grand Lodge of England.
Kufuor stated that Freemasonry was an old craft that was practically prohibited to discuss openly because the ‘High-and-Mighty’ and the ‘Powers-that-Be’ in society at the time intended to eradicate it.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has said that he is a proud Freemason.
“I am a proud Freemason, and I confirm that the ideas and doctrines of Freemasonry that we are taught in the Lodge, particularly in the areas of governance and responsibility, have always served me well in my everyday activities as Asantehene,” he stated.
John Henry Martey Newman was a Ghanaian historian, administrator, and lawyer who served as Ghana’s Chief of Staff under President John Atta Mills.
The Grand Lodge of Ghana’s Grandmaster is Otwasuom Osei Nyampong.
He has been involved in disseminating more information about Freemasonry to the general population.
Albert Kan Dapaah, Ghana’s National Security Minister, has been appointed and installed as the country’s Assistant Grand Master of Freemasons.
The Grand Lodge of Antient Free and Accepted Masons of Ghana hosted the event on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Accra.
Dapaah was enthroned among other notable Ghanaians.
Dr. Nortey Omaboe, Akuapemhene of Amanokrom Akuapem, was also appointed as Deputy Grand Master.
Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Member of Parliament for the people of Effutu in the Central Region, is a member of the Grand Lodge of Free Masons.
According to him, the organization’s ideas and values do not contradict his Catholic beliefs and background.

Freemasonry is a fraternal organization that believes in God Almighty and adheres to specific ideals that guide a man’s life, and it does not contradict my Catholic beliefs.
