Adelaide The Seer is a Ghanaian lady who is visually impaired but has proven that it does not limit her abilities.
She is a musician and a TikTok influencer with over 86,000 followers. In an interview with Tales of Africa, Adelaide demonstrated her ability to tell the colors of dresses she was presented with.
Adelaide was diagnosed with cerebrospinal meningitis (CSM), a bacterial infection that affects the spinal cord, leading to impaired speech, incapacitation, hearing loss, and many others. Her condition began with her inability to walk, headaches, and finally, loss of her vision.
During the interview, Adelaide was presented with a few dresses to demonstrate how she could tell the dress’s colors. She used her hands to identify some parts of the fabrics, giving her an idea of which dresses she had in hand.
Adelaide said that when she gets a new dress, she first asks her mother about the features of the dress. That helps her select her dresses for different occasions.
Adelaide is not limited by losing her sight. She is able to style her hair, make breakfast for herself, and go about her daily duties except for some functions for which she would need assistance from her mother.
Adelaide dreams like all people with sight do. She is able to see herself in her dreams, but unfortunately, she only sees her 17-year-old self, an image of herself that she had in mind before she lost her sight.
Adelaide described the interviewer perfectly, talking about his short hair, brown skin, facial curves, and personality just by listening to him.
Her melodious voice sent shivers down the spine of her viewers, who were surprised by her talent despite her visual impairment.
