Sakawa Boy arrested for trying to buy used sanitary pads from female Students
A 25-year-old guy involved in “Sakawa” (money rituals) was detained in the Central Region of Ghana for attempting to purchase soiled sanitary pads from female pupils at the Awutu Obrachire Secondary Technical School.
The suspect, whose name has been suppressed, is from Agona Swedru and allegedly offered one of the female students GH100 in exchange for collecting and delivering all of their used sanitary pads, which he intended to utilize in money rituals. After the ceremonies were performed, he offered to divide the money with the students.
Instead of accepting the offer, the youngster informed her classmates and teachers about the suspect’s intentions.
The teachers devised a brilliant plan to set a trap for the suspect. They purchased fresh sanitary pads and painted them with a red liquid mixture to make them seem like used pads. They then notified the suspect that the things were ready for pickup.
The suspect joyfully arrived on the school grounds, unknowing that he was entering a trap. Several teachers intervened and caught him as he worked with the student to collect the materials.
The suspect acknowledged when questioned that his supervisor, who resides in Agona Swedru, had given him this task. He acknowledged that they performed money rituals with sanitary pads.
The suspect is currently in police custody, aiding with the ongoing investigation into this tragic crime. T
