Piesie Esther has made a lame defense on behalf of her colleague Ama Boahemaa, who was dragged for the drastic change in her complexion not long ago.
Boahemaa, a famous Ghanaian gospel artiste who wowed Ghanaians with her spirit-filled back-to-back hit songs in the early 2000s, reappeared recently with lighter skin than she had in the past, after taking a vacation from the music field.
The controversy sparked a lot of discussion online and split people’s viewpoints.
Piesie Esther told Mona Gucci on Onua TV, while reviving the matter for the first time in months, that Ama Boahemaa’s skin was black by poverty and nothing else.
“Maybe the fair complexion was in her blood. Just that poverty enveloped her real complexion. The soap she was using wasn’t favorable to her skin tone. Now she’s using good soap, as well as enjoying good weather. Hence her fair complexion”. she revealed
