Police shoots and k!ll two armed robbers who asked passengers they robbed to pray for them
The Ghana Police Service announced that one of the five armed men who recently robbed passengers on a bus in the Western area had been apprehended and that two of them had been gunned down
Five armed robbers in masks with guns and other weapons attacked around 40 passengers onboard a VIP bus with the registration number GT 5795-16 on February 21, 2022, robbing them of their money and other belongings.
When the accident occurred, the bus was heading from Takoradi in the Western Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The robbers claim that they were not pleased with what they did to them, but that they were forced to do so at the cost of their lives and valuables since the country’s general poverty is unacceptable.
“They requested us to pray for them after the robbery because it was not their intention to stop vehicles on the highway and steal passengers of their goods, but the system forced them to do so,” Akua, a victim, told Takoradi-based Connect FM.
On Wednesday, the police department shared the news on its Facebook page, promising to provide more information later.
According to the Police service, the apprehended person is in custody and is assisting with inquiries.
The suspects allegedly engaged the officers in a shootout, resulting in the deaths of two of them.
