Amakye Dede’s long-lost son, Derrick Amakye Dede, caused a stir on social media last weekend. In a video that went viral, the young man expressed his anger and disappointment towards his father, accusing him of neglecting him and his siblings.
Derrick revealed that Amakye Dede had denied being his father and had refused to take responsibility for him. He also claimed that his father had insulted his mother by calling her derogatory names.
In the video, Derrick mentioned another young man named Nana Amakye, whom he believed to be Amakye Dede’s biological son, and accused the music legend of neglecting him as well.
However, Derrick later apologized for his actions, stating that his outburst was driven by pain and frustration. He revealed that he had not seen his father for almost 17 years, except for a brief encounter when he was hospitalized.
In the midst of the interview, Derrick mentioned that his mother had collapsed upon learning of Amakye Dede’s insults and had been rushed to the hospital.
