Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are facing additional legal trouble after a security guard filed a default judgment against them.
According to court records, Thomas Weidenmuller, a security guard, filed a lawsuit against the Pettys in 2022 for an alleged assault that occurred during a Nicki World Tour concert in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2019.
Weidenmuller claims that the altercation occurred when a fan entered the stage through a security barrier while Nicki was performing. Although the fan was escorted offstage by Nicki’s personal security team in less than 15 seconds, Nicki and Petty allegedly confronted Weidenmuller and his team about the incident after the performance.
Weidenmuller is suing the couple for $753,000 for “battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.” He has requested that the court issue a default judgment in his favor because the Pettys have not responded to the claim. A default judgment against Nicki has already been given to Weidenmuller, but he hasn’t yet succeeded in getting a default judgment against Petty.
According to reports, Nicki allegedly referred to a female security guard on Weidenmuller’s team as a “fucking bitch” and started berating her live on social media. Weidenmuller intervened at that point and led the female security guard out of the situation. Then, according to him, he went to Nicki’s dressing room to address the situation, and Petty allegedly punched him while Nicki started swearing.
Weidenmuller reportedly claimed that Nicki gave Petty orders to hit him, which led to the lawsuit. The case is ongoing, and it remains to be seen how it will be resolved.
