Newcastle United honors Christian Atsu As They share a throwback video of His goal and assist against West Ham – Watch

In honor of Christian Atsu, his former club, Newcastle United shared a video of one of his greatest performances on their official Twitter account.

Newcastle came back from a goal down to defeat West Ham 3-2 in a Premier League encounter that also included Christian Atsu’s international teammate and Black Stars captain Dede Ayew.

Christian Atsu had an assist and a goal in the win. Atsu assisted on Newcastle’s second goal before scoring the game-winning goal.

On the left flank, Christian Atsu gathered the ball and swung past Zabelata to set up Diame for Newcastle’s second goal.

After missing a penalty kick, West Ham’s Andre Ayew scored with a few seconds remaining to make the score 3-2.

Christian Atsu was a Newcastle player from 2016 to 2021, featuring in over 100 appearances.

The former Premier League footballer, who played for both Newcastle United and Chelsea, was among the people who got trapped during the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria. He was discovered dead twelve days later.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United fans have begun a fundraising drive in Christian Atsu’s honor in order to fulfill the former winger’s dream to establish a new school in Ghana.

Following the news that the 31-year-old winger for Newcastle and Chelsea had perished in the devastating earthquake, condolences came in from his previous clubs.
