The Federal Government has filed 23-count charges against Peter Nwachukwu, the late Ekwueme singer Osinachi’s husband, who died on April 8 after allegedly assaulting her.
The Attorney-General of the Federation accused him under sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.
The defendant was charged with culpable murder, a crime punishable by death by hanging under Section 221 of the Penal Code.”
This followed a succession of statements from Peter’s children, Osinachi’s sisters, and parents proving that he was an abusive man.
Last month, Osinachi, of “Ekueme” fame, died. Following her death, various allegations surfaced claiming that her husband was the reason for her death.
He was accused of repeatedly striking and kicking her abdomen.
The allegations were so terrible that even his children admitted to beating their mother when she was alive.
