As he recounts how it all began, a young man identified as Samuel Atta discloses that his mother sold him to a ritualist when he was six years old.
Samuel claims that on the day she planned to sell him, his mother told him that his father would come and take him to where he stayed, but the truth is that the claimed guy was not his biological father; instead, he was the ritualist.
Before the man came for him, his mother made sure he was sedated. She showered him and drove him to a close friend’s house, where they agreed that the man would come to his house to pick him up.
When he arrived at the man’s residence, he learned that he was one of 40 youngsters who would be used in the rituals one by one.
He lived in Kete Krachi in the Volta Region, where he had three wives and a large family.
We lived on an island near Kete Krachi. He had three wives with many children but he never killed any of them. What he does is pick a child at night, pierce a bread knife through their oesophagus till they stop shouting. He then cuts them into pieces and throws them into the water surrounding us
The children who lived with the father were not provided food or brushed their teeth, according to Samuel, who also stated that there was no electricity and that they lacked clothing.
During their time in the community, they slept outside.
At the age of 18, though, Atta was able to swim away and escape.
“I had to swim my way out of the island”- he said
Those who attempted to flee were either discovered dead or caught and slain, according to him.
