My House Was The Headquarters Of Drugs But I Never Used or Tasted Drugs – Ernest Opoku
Although growing up in Krofrom, Ashanti Region, where his house became a shelter for drug traffickers, gospel artist Ernest Opoku said that he never experimented with drugs as a young man.
These drug traffickers, according to the gospel singer, would occasionally conceal their products in his home and subsequently come seeking them, but he was never convinced to consume drugs in any manner.
In an interview with Hello FM in Kumasi, Ernest Opoku said: They used to sell drugs in our home…that was their selling point and sometimes we would conceal the narcotics in our house for them and so on.
Although residing in one of the most infamous drug-trafficking areas, he said he had never tried narcotics when asked whether he had.
“Please forgive me for expressing this, but I used to reside in Krofrom Colombia. Everyone in that community knows there is substantial drug trafficking going on, but I never took any”. In an interview with Entertainment Review host Dave Hammer, he confirmed this.
Ernest Opoku went on the program to promote his new song, which he claims honors his 20 years in the music profession.
I thank God for keeping me from taking part in such an atrocity. I’ll thank him for that on the next episode, he added.
