Efya, a popular Ghanaian singer, recently revealed that she took a break from music to heal from a broken heart. She shared this during an interview on 3FM’s Urban Blend with AJ Sarpong.
According to her, she was served breakfast that she never expected, which led to her heartbreak. She was so hurt that she didn’t want to sing anymore. She said, “My heart was broken,” which shocked the host, AJ.
Efya explained that as a girl, her feelings matter a lot to her, and she needed time to heal emotionally. She took a break from music to focus on herself and her emotional well-being. She said that she didn’t want to deal with the heartbreak at that time.
Efya also revealed that she has been working in the music industry for 15 years without taking a break. During this time, she actively appeared on numerous shows, continually promoting her work. She said that she has given everyone their feature and has been representing for a long time.
Efya is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and actress from Kumasi. She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad.
She gained her first taste of stardom when she took part in the inaugural Stars of the Future talent competition. Beginning in 2011, she won the Ghana Music Awards four times in a row for Best Female Vocal Performance. In addition, her performance at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards received praise.
