Kumerica on its way! Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to rebuild a new modernized Kumasi city
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, is working with three paramount chiefs in the Ashanti Region, a diaspora network, foreign investors, and local investors to develop a modernized city in the region.
The project will take place in and around Anwiankwanta, as well as in the region’s other two major cities, to welcome tourists after they visit the coastal tourism spots.
It also serves to recall and redeem the name Garden City for visitors and the people of the country.
On January 29, 2022, the announcement was made on the Asante Nation’s Facebook page.
According to the article, “the new Kumasi city will also be a gold hub in the area, with a gold refinery hub to serve as a tourism attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.” The refinery hub’s stockholders include international investors and chiefs.”
Meanwhile, in December 2021, the Asantehene will unveil 24-carat commemorative gold coins to mark 22 years of contribution to Ghana’s peace, stability, and growth.
