‘It’s impossible for me to accept something that isn’t mine.’ – 37-year-old man says as girl forces pregnancy on him
A family in the Ahafo region’s Pemesem township kept a guy captive due to his refusal to acknowledge and accept responsibility after allegedly impregnating a lady.
Kwadwo Nana “Nana Kay” Amankwah, 37, was ready for work today morning at his residence when he was confronted by the parents of one of his trainees with a case.
Elder Theophilus Yamaa, the girl’s father, together with his wife and daughter; Yaa Yamaa, went to Nana Kay’s house to accuse him of impregnating their daughter.
“The message I convey is not one in demands of water but one in demand of fairness and manliness,” the elder is reported to have said when Nana Kay tried welcoming them with water.
Nana Kay, alone in his plastic chair, rejected the elder’s and his wife’s message on the grounds that he had never had anything to do with the girl in question.
According to Nana Kay, the pregnant daughter is only a “favorite apprentice” of mine, and no previous interactions between us have been documented. There is nothing I have to conceal from you, and that is the truth.”
“I can’t accept something that isn’t mine,” Nana Kay said to the elder. Yaa Yamaa, who claimed his employer, Nana Kay, was the father of her unborn child, was plunged into a state of shock when Nana Kay publicly denied the pregnancy.
a heated argument began to ensue as residents within the Moso area of Pemesem quickly gathered at the scene. However, these bystanders confirmed that Nana Kay is to blame for Yaa Yamaa’s pregnancy. The majority of them asserted that Nana Kay and Yaa Yamaa were frequently spotted together after all the apprentices had left the business.
The case was sent to the Pemesem royal house when the town’s chief and elders intervened to prevent the people from squabbling. Nana Kay, who was being held hostage by Elder Theophilus Yamaa, was permitted to leave when the linguist to the Chief of Pemesem called for peace to reign following the case being reported to the town’s chief and elders.
The case will be called to the Pemesem royal home on Sunday 13 December for further hearing.
