It cost 30,000 cedis just to produce one united showbiz episode
“United Showbiz,” a prominent entertainment review show on United Television hosted by screen diva Nana Ama Mcbrown, is one of Ghana’s most-watched entertainment news programs.
The show has developed a reputation for being one of the most talked-about, especially on Saturdays when it constantly rules social media trends.
Despite all the fantastic qualities of the show, several viewers have recently expressed their displeasure with how much time the production crew devotes to airing commercials.
On some occasions, the show’s commercial break lasts for about 30 minutes.
On Saturday, July 2, 2022, during an episode of the show, Manye Dede, a viewer, complained about the show’s overwhelming amount of commercials on her Facebook wall.
There are more than 20 billion adverts on only one show, she claimed in her post “Show baako advert 20 million.”
Uncle Fredyma, a well-known sound engineer and entertainment critic, responded to her article by stating that the commercials are essential for the performance because the production alone costs more than GHC30.000.
