I’m still thinking about playing for Ghana – Hudson-Odoi reveals
Callum Hudson-Odoi has indicated that he is “still thinking over” playing for Ghana, despite the fact that he has not made up his mind.
The 22-year-old has played for England at all levels, including the Three Lions, U16s, U17s, U18s, and U19s.
Bismark Odoi, Hudson-Odoi’s father, did, however, play for Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League in the 1990s before going to England. Hudson-Odoi was born in Ghana.
Despite having previously made three appearances for England, he is still eligible to play for Ghana due to a modification in FIFA’s eligibility standards.
Hudson-Odoi, who was demoted to England’s U21s, hasn’t played for the Three Lions in a long time and has declined call-ups.
The winger, who joined Nottingham Forest from Chelsea this summer, is attempting to relaunch his career following a succession of disappointing seasons.
However, he remains optimistic about playing for his country again and professes to be undecided about changing his nationality.
“That choice has not yet been made. “I’m still thinking about it,” he stated during the interview.
“Ghana is a very good option, but we’ll have to wait and see.” Maybe Gareth [Southgate] or Ghana will come once I start playing games here. It’s a good situation to be in, and maybe we’ll find out sooner or later.”
