Samini, a reggae and dancehall singer, has explained why he backed President Nana Addo Dankwa and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general elections.
The My Own hitmaker stated that he voted for the ruling party because he admired President Nana Akufo-Addo’s policies.
In an interview with TV3, Samini denied the charges that he was a member of the NPP.
“I am not a member of the NPP, but I support Nana Akufo-Addo’s policies.” That is what drew me to his policies, as well as the fact that it makes more sense for him to continue from where he has begun rather than swap him,” he remarked.
Samini further stated that programs such as ‘Free SHS,’ ‘One District, One Factory,’ and ‘One Village, One Dam’ compelled him to vote for the NPP in the recent elections.
