“I shave my beard every day just to be accepted by people”- Lady with too much hair speaks (photos)

A Lady WITH Too much HAIR GROWTH has revealed how she shaved her face every day and avoided going out without cosmetics in order to conceal her thick, black beard.

Nellie-Jean Robinson, a 35-year-old financial analyst from Orlando, Florida, has hirsutism, a hormonal imbalance that causes black hair to grow all over her body, which she was diagnosed with in her twenties.

The disease causes thick, black hair to grow on her chest and other regions of her body, not only on her face.

Nellie-Jean also suffers from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), a condition that can result in facial hair development.

The bank employee, however, has learnt to embrace herself by accepting her facial hair after years of shaving every day in an attempt to eliminate her extra hair.

The finance analyst has been letting her facial hair grow out in recent months after finding sugar waxing and has been recording her experience online.

“I suspected I had this condition when I was in middle school, but I was not officially diagnosed until I was in my mid-twenties,” she said of her affliction.

“Having hirsutism made it difficult for me to make friends, which had a negative impact on my social life.”

“I spent a lot of my life hating how I looked, so I was always trying to hide it, and I felt more at ease going out late to a comedy club than going to the beach.”

“It also made it difficult for me to develop romantic relationships, making it difficult for me to grow physically, intimately, and romantically close to men.”

“I have always made it clear that touching my face is a no-no.”

“In case I needed to stay somewhere overnight, I kept razors and makeup in my purse.”

“It was quite a hassle and really made me feel as if marriage was not a viable option.”

Nellie-Jean just decided to let her facial hair grow out at the beginning of this year so she could use sugar waxing instead of shaving.

This meant putting down the razors and growing facial hair for weeks at a time.

“At first, I was terrified, but because we were in the middle of a pandemic, it was not that difficult to hide my hair growth,” she explained.

“After a few weeks of growing it out, I realized it was not all that bad; it did not kill me like my fear had predicted.”

“I even thought to myself, ‘It is very freeing not to have to shave and wear makeup anymore.’

“I haven’t put a razor to my face since.”

Nellie-Jean chose to publish TikTok videos about her experience, including before and after photographs of her facial waxings, after discovering her newfound confidence.

She has subsequently gained a sizable fan base, who have complimented her for her forthrightness and honesty.

Nellie-Jean stated, “I had a desire to share my story about hirsutism and PCOS because of the freedom and liberty I received from growing my hair out,”

“The humiliation, embarrassment, and guilt that I had felt up to that moment had vanished.

“I know there are women struggling in silence just like me who deserved to hear my story and know they were not alone.”

“I do have to deal with the occasional snide remark, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”

“A lot of women are very pleased with the concept that I’m bringing awareness to PCOS.”

Since then, Nellie-Jean has founded Cysters for Sisters, an organization committed to uniting women with PCOS with one another and with useful resources.

“I want women who are suffering from this condition to know that they are beautiful and perfect just the way they are,” she continued.

“As much as I would like to claim that my hirsutism insecurity is a thing of the past, that just is not the case.

“I am still trying to figure out when and how to bring up the subject.

“One thing is for sure though; I won’t be a slave to shaving and makeup anymore and whoever I am dating will simply have to accept me as I am, or they can keep it trucking.”

Meanwhile, she added, “People constantly call me Barbie but I’m really a proud catfish. No one can believe it when they see me without makeup”
