In a bid to survive what he perceives as extreme hardships in Ghana, Clement Bonney, widely known as Mr Beautiful, has resorted to selling coconuts and sugarcanes. The actor, who has been a vocal supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, believes that the collapse of the Ghanaian movie industry has contributed to his current woes.

In an interview with Cape Coast-based Property FM, Mr Beautiful lamented the challenges faced by those actively engaged in the movie industry. The collapse of the industry has left many struggling to make ends meet. As a result, he has taken up the business of selling sugarcane and coconut to sustain himself. Interestingly, the coconuts he sells are sourced from his hometown, Abura Dunkwa, in the Central Region of Ghana.

Mr Beautiful’s acting career may have suffered due to his public support for former President Mahama and the NDC in the 2012 and 2016 elections. However, in a previous interview with Graphic Showbiz in 2020, he expressed his unwavering dedication to the party. He stated that his support for Mahama was not merely about personal preference but rather a belief that the NDC administration had performed better for the arts compared to the NPP in the last four years.

“I am ever ready to battle with my sweat and blood for Mahama,” Mr Beautiful proudly proclaimed. He continued by stating that he is willing to back his claims with facts and invite anyone who disagrees to challenge him. Despite the challenges he faces, his support for Mahama and the NDC remains steadfast.

In conclusion, Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr Beautiful, has found himself selling coconuts and sugarcanes to survive the perceived hardships in Ghana. The collapse of the movie industry has played a significant role in his current situation. However, his unwavering support for former President Mahama and the NDC remains unshaken. He firmly believes that the NDC administration performed better for the arts than the NPP in recent years. Mr Beautiful’s determination to support his chosen party is admirable, as he continues to navigate the challenges that come his way.
