Yvonne Nelson, a Ghanaian actress, film producer, and philanthropist has revealed why she declined a marriage proposal.
According to the mother of one, a man she was dating at the time proposed to her on her 30th birthday, but she refused the ring.
“I had a ring on my 30th birthday, and I returned it.” So it’s not a do or die situation… Marriage is not something you want to enter and then quit. “Someone I was dating proposed to me,” she stated in a recent Angel FM interview.
The award-winning film producer revealed that she was not ready for the commitment when she declined the proposal.
‘Because I didn’t feel ready,’ she says. I don’t want to cheat on anyone or lie to anyone. It’s a delicate matter. If someone wants to marry you and knows the society… it should be someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. “You understand there is no going back,” she said.
Yvonne Nelson also mentioned her father’s absence as one of the reasons she is taking her time finding a family-oriented husband.
“I look for one thing: does the person wish to start a family?” Do they care about children? Will he adore and look after his children? Will they be there in their children’s lives? If I can’t have that, love isn’t for me. Therefore far as he would be involved in his child’s life and cater to that youngster, it’s good; I didn’t have that, so I want that for my children,” she added.
