“History will only remember ‘Otumfuor’ as a servant to Denkyirahene”- Dormaa Chief blasts Asantehene.

Recent observations suggest a heated brawl between the Ashanti region’s Asantehene and the Dormaahene of the western Bono lands.

But, according to historians, the war began long before most of us came into existence, and the current rulers are no exception.

Historians have said unequivocally that the Ashantis and Dormaas would never be united again following the death of ‘Dormaa Kusi.’

Dormaa Kusi is the late king who succeeded the present Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyamang Badu II. He is also the present Dormaahene’s uncle.

Dormaa Kusi was assassinated by the Ashanti kingdom, as commanded by the then-Ashanti monarch Otumfuo Osei Tutu I, for a rebellion attempt, as confirmed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the first council meeting at the Ashanti regional headquarters.

Perhaps this is what sparked the present Dormaahene’s rage. That’s what we can see from his behavior.

For the first time in 2022, a traditional Council Meeting was held in the Ashanti regional capital, and Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II talked publicly about the Dormaahene’s claims against the Ashanti Kingdom.

However, King “Otumfuo” emphasized the claims that characterized the Ashanti Kingdom as a diplomatic colony in the contemporary age.

He stated that the Ashanti kingdom has never compelled any of its inhabitants to serve the Golden Stool in current times, although his predecessors may have done so.

“However, you are always welcome if you want to serve the Golden stool, achieve your objectives, and help your city prosper,” he continued.

He responded to Dormaahene by stating he is envious and selfish for claiming Okomfo Anokye is a fiction, and Kumasi suggests Ashanti servants who served the then Denkyirahene by chopping the tree known as “Kum.”

The Dormaahene recently attacked Asantehene again, claiming that Otumfuo merely came to brush off the claims, but he was never explicit and only beat about the bush.

He has also stated that he is not envious of Otumfuo, but that he cannot prohibit him from teaching history to children because Otumfuo himself confessed that Oseadeayo Agymang Badu was once a teacher.

The king was interviewed on “OHENE TV,” which appears to be one of his own television channels based in Dormaa territory.

The present king’s response, however, was deemed unacceptable by many netizens owing to the Dormaa overlord’s harsh statements.

He made repeated remarks about Otumfuo never bowing down to any ruler but the Denkyira king and history records that he was also a servant to the Denkyira king.

“History will remember “Otumfuo” solely as a prisoner and servant to the Denkyira monarch, ” he added.

Tutu Otumfuo Osei The harsh fact is that I would not have been king if it hadn’t been for the meddling of the myth of Okomfo Anokye.
