David Okike, a Nigerian man whose fiancée, Ada Uburu, called off their wedding on Facebook, has accused her of terminating their pregnancies three times.
Uburu had canceled her wedding, which was set to take place on Saturday, due to alleged domestic abuse.
Okike, on the other hand, has refuted her claims, claiming that he had never raised his hands on her before.
He claimed Uburu had terminated three pregnancies because she did not want to have a child outside of marriage.
Okike also revealed on Facebook that Uburu is currently pregnant for him and that he will not receive the bride price he paid for her until she gives birth.
“Contrary to the statement my wife posted on her Facebook (page), this is my story,” he wrote.
First and foremost, let me state that we have been dating for over eight years. I have never raised my hand to her in all these years, regardless of the level of provocation, because I respect and adore her.
“It is difficult for me to bring this to the public’s attention, but I am aware that he who asserts must prove, and that silence sometimes means acceptance, and as such, I am handicapped safe from letting the public into this issue.” I’m now convinced that she isn’t the woman for me.
“Even after having three of my pregnancies terminated without my consent.” Why would a rational thinking woman remain silent while I spent a lot of money on wedding plans when she was convinced she didn’t want the marriage to last?
“She had always maintained that she did not want a child before marriage, which I accepted and respected because I love her.” She took in and terminated the pregnancy after paying her bride price in 2020… She had terminated her third pregnancy.
“I thank God that she has chosen this path, and I accept and respect her decision.” However, telling lies in order to play the victim is both abnormal and unacceptable.
Regardless of what happened, she is having my child, and the Uburu tradition and culture do not allow me to receive the dowry I paid because she is currently pregnant with me. However, when she delivers my child, I will undoubtedly receive my dowry.
