A video of a government official beating a commercial sex worker after reportedly sleeping with her and failing to pay for her services appeared on social media a few days ago.
The incident occurred a few days ago at Cape Coast, Central Region, and was taken on camera by a concerned local who happened to be nearby.
According to recent information, the worker, who has been identified as Godwin Bayor aka Yaw, works as a driver at Aggrey Memorial Senior High School.
According to a source, he was apprehended by Ghana Police Service officers after the video went viral.
The incident is being probed, according to the source, and the driver will be arraigned in court soon.
What happened in the video.
In the video, Yaw can be seen slapping and manhandling the prostitute who won’t let him leave since he didn’t pay the agreed-upon amount.
The slaps had plainly bruised the young lady’s face, but she stood firm, signaling that she would not let go of him until he paid the full amount.
The incident is thought to have happened on March 6th, during Ghana’s 65th anniversary festivities.
The young lady is said to have pleaded with Ghanaians to remove the video from social media after it went viral because she was upset by its popularity.
