Girl Saved From Early Marriage Gains Admission to Her Dream High School – Photos
Umaru Sanda Amadu, a seasoned Ghanaian journalist who works for Citi TV/FM in Accra, has saved a girl’s career prospects and given her great hope for the future.
As previously reported, it all started three years ago when Umaru Sanda discovered the plan to marry the girl off and intervened to stop the process so she could continue her education.
“I incurred the wrath of some of my community members, particularly, the Muslims over an action I took to help prevent a 13-year-old girl from being forced into marriage,” he recalled.
The young lady has now realized her dream of enrolling in Tema Senior High School for her secondary education, a remarkable event that Sanda himself witnessed.
This follows a previous ceremony in which the 16-year-old was returned to her family, who promised that she would continue her education.
