Ghanaian actor Kyekyeku has spoken about his humble beginnings and how he rose to fame with the help of fellow actor Akabenezer, also known as Dr. Likee.
Growing up, according to the young man, was difficult, and being able to attend school was difficult due to the financial constraints his family faced.
Kyekyeku began acting at a young age and gave it his all. According to him, he almost chose not to attend senior high school because it could have jeopardized his acting career.
He eventually settled on being a day student, which allowed him to combine acting and schooling. The young star mentioned how difficult it was to get people to buy the films in which he appeared.
He would sell the movies around town in the hopes that someone would buy them. He mentioned that there were times when he couldn’t even afford transportation to movie sets and had to sit on a friend’s lap before making it.
Kyekyeku stated that things improved for him after meeting fellow actor Akabenezer, also known as Dr Likee. Akabenezer’s platform provided the young man with his break, as he trended on various social media platforms thanks to the skits he appeared in.
People were ecstatic when they heard Kyekyeku’s story and congratulated him.
