From Grass to Grace See How this street hawker’s life was transformed after he was spotted giving money to prisoners (photos)
Former street hawker Jeremiah Ekuma is eager to return to school after Ebonyi State University reopened his registration, which he had missed because to financial difficulties.
Ekuma’s story changed after he was caught on film giving money to the occupants of a prison bus in Lagos, which went viral in January.
His behavior of the detainees attracted a lot of attention, especially from Obinna Iyiegbu, commonly known as Obi Cubana, who gave him a scholarship.
On his official Instagram account, Ekuma said that he had met with school officials and that his admission had been restored.
“My entrance to EBSU has been reinstated,” he remarked, “so I will be returning to school soon.”
Jeremiah Ekuma, the viral Lagos bottled water hawker, has established a new personal record by flying for the first time. On his Instagram feed, the joyful young man shared photos of himself posing with an airplane behind him with the caption:
“It is my first time boarding a plane. The journey to greatness.”
Obi Cubana, a socialite and businessman, had promised to pay for the former street hawker’s education while also providing him an employment at one of his enterprises.
Ekuma gets paid N100,000 each month as part of Iyiegbu’s promise to change his life for the better.
