Popular rapper KTS Dre dies after being shot 64 times on the same day he was released from jail
On Saturday, July 10, soon after he was freed from jail, a rapper from Chicago, Illinois, was slain after being shot dozens of times.
KTS Dre, a 31-year-old male, was shot and murdered as he came out of the Cook County Jail in what was alleged to be a pre-planned attack.
According to ABC7, the rapper, whose real name is Londre Sylvester, was with a 60-year-old woman when a car came up and two guys opened fire with dozens of rounds.
He was beaten in the face and chest a day after his fiancée had posted his bail, according to reports. When he arrived at the hospital, he was pronounced dead.
After medical care, the woman he was with was wounded in the knee but was found to be in excellent health.
Another 35-year-old lady standing close was wounded in the face by a bullet and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
According to Fox2 Detroit, the rapper’s letters KTS stand for Kill To Survive, which he had tattooed on his neck along with a target symbol. Dre was supposedly recognized as a gang member, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
In April, the 31-year-old was arrested for failing to appear in court for a bond breach in a felony firearms case. On July 27, 2021, he was scheduled to appear in court again.
The late was also believed to be under house arrest since December, with a GPS monitoring device attached to him.
