Ejura Shooting: Photos And Details Of One Of The Young Men Shot Dead By Military Men Surfaces

The identity of a protester killed in a conflict between military and police forces and the young people of Ejura in the Ashanti region has been revealed.

Two people were reported killed in the confrontation. One of them was recognized only by his nickname, ‘Di Maria.’

During protests following the death of Ibrahim Anyass Mohammed, a.k.a. Kaaka Macho, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, security officers and Ejura youths fought.

During a rally in Ejur, Di Maria was shot and murdered.

Kaaka Macho, 40, was assassinated in cold blood outside his home in Ejura, Ghana’s Ashanti Region, by unknown assailants.

Kaaka is thought to have been murdered in connection with his online and physical actions in support of the popular #FixTheCountry movement.

On Saturday, June 26, 2021, at around 1:30 a.m., he was allegedly attacked by a mob and screamed for assistance, but by the time anybody arrived, he was already comatose.

He was transported to the Ejura Sekyeredumase District Hospital and then sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, according to Citinewsroom, but he died on Monday, June 28, 2021.

His killing infuriated the town’s young, who attacked the police station demanding justice for Kaaka.

Their visit to the police station devolved into a street demonstration, prompting military and police action.

The intervention backfired when military forces opened fire into the crowd, killing Di Maria and another individual.

Di Maria’s photo from the demonstration grounds before he was shot has recently surfaced on the internet.

The deceased appeared to be a young man with a lot of energy in the photographs.
