Moses Onyeh, better known as Dry Bone, the President of the Ghana Drunkards Association (GDA), has declared that the Association has suspended Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, for two weeks.
The suspension is intended to reverse the President’s decision to raise alcohol taxes. This declaration was made by Dry Bone during his appearance on TV XYZ’s political program, “the gumbe show.”
Dry Bone showed that Ghana’s President is a genuine member of the Association. He said that the President’s decision to raise alcohol taxes constituted a betrayal of the Association, therefore the suspension.
The ban is designed to prevent the President from partaking in any alcoholic beverages during the Easter celebrations.
“We suspend him for two weeks during which period we expect him to reverse the decision, failure to do so, we shall revoke his membership by withdrawing his licence,” said Dry Bone.
The GDA head went on to say that the Association’s 10.6 million members could have spoiled their votes in any election or staged a protest, but both options would waste the country’s precious resources and undermine national security. As a result, the decision was taken to suspend the proud member.
“Our 10.6 membership weighs more than any political party membership in Ghana, and if we decide to demonstrate or spoil ballots, it will go against the nation so we suspend the President,” he added.
