Dr. Kwame Despite is the only friend who went with me to pay my wife’s bride price – Dr. Ernest Ofori Sapong
Everyone in Ghana knows about the amazing friendship between two men who have become like family: Dr. Kwame Despite and Dr. Ernest Ofori Sapong.
They have been close for many years and people even thought they were brothers!
But in 2021, Dr. Ofori Sapong revealed the truth at his 57th birthday celebration. He said that he and Dr. Kwame Despite are not actually brothers, but their friendship is just as strong as ever.
During his birthday celebration, Dr. Ofori Sapong shared a special moment that showed just how close he and Dr. Kwame Despite really are. He revealed that Dr. Despite was the only friend who went with him to pay the bride price for his wife 32 years ago.
Even though they are not brothers, Dr. Kwame Despite and Dr. Ernest Ofori Sapong have a bond that is unbreakable. They have been through thick and thin together and their friendship is an inspiration to us all.
“It may interest you to know that, even many years ago, about 32 years ago, when I went to pay the bride price of my wife, he was the only friend that went with me. It shows how far we have come,” he told the guests gathered at his birthday party.
“We all started as young businessmen and our talks together have brought both of us to this stage. We have travelled together, done a lot of things together, shared ideas, business ideas, and so many other things.
“I want to appreciate him, he is who I am today. He is the one who has supported me in many ways. I can’t say it; both financially, motivationally, he’s being an inspiration to me,” he said.
