“Continue beating the criminals at Ashaiman”– Mother of Sheriff Imoro tells Ghana soldiers (Watch video)
Afia Kyeraa, the 45-year-old mother of Sheriff Imoro, the military officer reportedly assassinated at Ashaiman by some people, has made a passionate plea to the military.
Despite several Ghanaians denouncing the alleged military violence, she insists she supports the operation.
“I want the military to continue beating these young men. If they continue like that, they will be forced to fish out those responsible and so even if they will use a month to beat and brutalise them, I will be happy because they have taken away my heart,” she cried in an interview as reported by Asempa FM on Tuesday.
Madam Kyeraa’s comment came after troops invaded Ashaiman in quest of information after an unnamed attacker reportedly fatally killed a colleague nearby.
She considers his son’s death to be a devastating blow to the family since he was supposed to care for them financially.
She also issued a stern warning to people spreading false information about his late son.
“You people should stop making those ugly noises, would you be happy if he were your son? Allow my son to rest in peace. This is very painful. We cannot take it any longer because the pain is too much for us to bear,” she said amid tears.
On March 4th, after a fellow soldier was slain nearby, the troops invaded the Ashaiman area.
In an attempt to uncover the murders, the military brutalized several locals while invading Ashaiman’s streets.
