Road accidents are a leading cause of mortality in Ghana, and a number of Ghanaian celebrities have regrettably been victims of these tragedies.

The majority of them were in their prime when they died and could have accomplished more if they had lived.

Here are the names of five Ghanaian celebrities who died in car accidents:

Terry Bonchaka, 2003

Terry Bonchaka, born Terrence Nii Okang Mensah Adjetey, was a Ghanaian hip-hop performer.

Unfortunately, he died in a car accident during a concert at the University of Ghana on October 29, 2003.

Suzzy Williams, 2005

Suzy Maleki Williams was a television actress from Ghana. She was well-known for her roles in films like Bloody Mary and The Comforter.

She died in a car accident on the Teshie-Nungua highway in 2005, at the age of 23.

Kwame Owusu Ansah, Kwame Owusu Ansah, Kwame Owusu

Kwame Owusu Ansah, a radio broadcaster and actor, was killed on May 8, 2008, after his car collided with a parked trailer on the side of the Tema freeway.

He was forty years old.

When a motorcycle struck dancehall performer Emmanuel Kojo Quayson, also known as Vybrant Fire, on the Dzorwolu-Tema expressway, he passed away at the age of 29.

  1. Ebony (2018)

Ghanaian dancehall sensation Ebony Reigns, actual name Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, was on the verge of becoming the country’s and world’s top musician.

Until her death in 2018, that is. Ebony died on the way back from Sunyani to Accra after seeing her mother on February 8, 2018.
