Acclaimed Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, showed his support for fellow musician and former protégé, Akwaboah, by purchasing his latest album, “LightHouse,” for a remarkable GHC 3,000 during an exclusive listening party. The event took place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the upscale SOHO Bar in Accra, and was attended by prominent figures from Ghana’s music scene, including Kwaisey Pee, Nabil Alhassan, KOD, and Andy Dosty.
Akwaboah’s “LightHouse” album was offered for auction in a unique format, downloaded onto a pen drive and accompanied by a headset. Sarkodie, who holds the record for the most awards won by a rapper on the African continent, did not hesitate to place his bid, ultimately acquiring the album for GHC 3,000.
Following his purchase, Sarkodie praised Akwaboah’s dedication and work ethic, expressing his admiration for the album’s quality. He described Akwaboah as an incredibly talented musician and acknowledged his long-standing appreciation for his work.
“I am very proud of him for releasing this album. It is a great piece of work,” Sarkodie declared, urging others to also listen to the album.
Sarkodie’s gesture not only underlines his personal support for Akwaboah but also serves as an endorsement of the quality of the “LightHouse” album.
