Ayew brothers finally releases statement on existing Black Stars
Fiifi Tackie, the Ayew family’s spokesperson, has denied reports that both Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew have left the Black Stars following the team’s elimination from AFCON 2021.
According to reports on Wednesday, January 26, the duo was set to leave the Black Stars due to allegations of using ‘black magic’ during the team’s AFCON camp in Cameroon.
Tackie, on the other hand, revealed in a Twitter post that both Andre and Jordan have no intention of retiring from national duty and are committed to representing Ghana.’
“Andrè and Jordan Ayew remains as dedicated to the Black Stars squad as they have always been. They will continue to wear the Black Stars jersey to represent Ghana and will give the team their all on and off the field, as they always have. We had just gotten off the phone.”
Andre and Jordan both competed in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Ghana was eliminated in the group stage.
A section of the media has since criticized the two players, with some calling for their dismissal.
Andre Ayew, on the other hand, insists that his international career is not over and that he has more to offer the Black Stars.
Speaking to the media following Ghana’s disappointing exit from the tournament in Cameroon, Andre stated that this will not be his final AFCON.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars are currently without a coach after the GFA fired Milovan Rajevac on Wednesday.
