“Anyone who claims she got rich from the movie industry in Ghana is lying”- Actress Pascaline Edwards
Celebrated and award-winning Ghanaian actress Pascaline Edwards has argued that young people in the film industry should get side hustles because the money they will make from making movies is “hand to mouth.”
The seasoned screen goddess claimed that any well-known actor or actress who asserts that they have made a significant amount of money from acting alone is lying.
Pascaline Edwards firmly asserted that no one could start a business or build a home on the basis of the movie industry alone in an exclusive interview on Onua FM’s “Adwuma Adwuma” with Felicia Osei.
“Whoever in the industry says they’ve made a fortune from making movies is a liar,” she said.
Pascaline Edwards also mentioned that acting was a career that was driven by passion and could make you famous.
She also cautioned young people and aspiring actors to diversify their income streams and avoid depending solely on movie profits.
“The movie industry propels you to a certain level. It gives you a brand. You may get Brand Ambassadorial deals and endorsement which can be lucrative but the income from the movies and set is inadequate,” she pointed out.
“If you have to sell groundnut and maize as your regular day job do that and add the acting as your side hustle because it’s really a hand-to-mouth industry,” she said
