Akuapem Poloo set to appear in court on Monday for an appeal hearing
Rosemond Alade Brown aka Akuapem Poloo’s application to appeal her conviction is set to be heard by the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court on October 25, 2021.
The Circuit Court, presided over by Christiana Cann, sentenced Akuapem Poloo to 90 days in prison on June 16.
Her lawyer, Andrew Kudzo Vortia, filed an appeal, and the High Court granted her bail pending the outcome of the appeal.
Since then, Defense Counsel Andrew Kudzo Vortia has met all of the appellant’s preliminary criteria.
The Attorney General’s office, on the other hand, has served the appellant’s counsel with a notice of hearing (Poloo).
The Attorney General has also started the appeals procedure.
According to sources, both parties have submitted their respective addresses for review by the High Court.
On Monday, October 25, 2021, the appeal hearing has been tentatively scheduled.
