Afghanistan: Taliban be@t women and men for wearing jeans and western clothes on the streets

Taliban gunmen are reportedly whipping Afghan people in the streets for wearing ‘westernized’ clothes like jeans.

Taliban militants have assaulted and whipped people for wearing jeans, accusing them of insulting Islam.

The youngsters were ‘walking with friends in Kabul’ when Taliban soldiers approached them. Two of their companions fled, while the rest were beaten and whipped in the street.

According to the Afghan weekly Etilaatroz, a Taliban official claimed the movement was still debating on the dress code for females.

The Telegraph reports that an Etilaatroz journalist was assaulted over the weekend for not wearing ‘Afghan clothing,’ such as full-body robes.

Women and girls were compelled to wear burqas starting at the age of eight when the Taliban previously ruled in the late 1990s.

Last month, Amnesty International said that Taliban forces killed nine ethnic Hazara males after capturing Ghazni province.

Local sources say the jihadists killed a regional police chief who stood up to the Taliban.

Footage also shows the Taliban confiscating Afghan flags from civilians and beating them with sticks and rifle butts
