Abigail Ashley of UTV undergoes kidney transplant after battling kidney disease for 13 years


Despite media employee, Abigail Ashley has successfully undergone a kidney transplant after thirteen years of battling with stage 4 Chronic Kidney disease which got her being estimated only five years to live.
The surgery was done on the 2nd December 2019 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital by a medical team drawn from the UK and that of Ghana. It was a successful one indeed.
This was revealed by Peace Fm on their social media page as they thanked the Lord for taking Abigail Ashley through a successful journey.
Abigail Ashley who was the host of ‘My health, My life‘ aired on UTV however, expressed her gratitude toward the management at her firm for supporting her in terms of finance and in spirit in seeing her through the surgery.
“Honestly speaking, the process is a very expensive one and I owe it all to Dr. Osei Kwame (Despite), Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, and Dr. Fadda Dickson. I want to use this opportunity to thank them for their support, love and care all these years, God bless and replenish them,” she said
