A Kenyan lady who had to restart her life after her husband dumped her has triumphed against all difficulties and become a homeowner in four years.
When Eunice Otieng’s husband left her for another woman in 2017, she never dreamed that one day she would be a landlord since she was dealing with a slew of issues, one of which was that her ex-husband had left her with massive loans to pay.
The mother of one, on the other hand, picked up the pieces, created several new enterprises, and is now able to build a house for herself.
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, a mother of one described how she and her daughter became homeless after their landlord foreclosed on their residence owing to months of rent arrears.
However, being a strong woman, Otieng, who works as a nurse, stated that she has decided to begin working as a commercial motorbike rider.
With my little earnings, I almost went insane. I had no choice but to consider how to begin life from zeros. “I had a motorcycle, so I started doing boda boda,” she explained.
Because her nursing salary was being used to repay the loans she had taken out for her ex-spouse, she worked night shifts and hustled as an Okada rider during the day.
In 2018, she saved GHC 1400 and launched a modest company. She began construction on her house since she had purchased a plot of land before to marriage.
“I resolved to work hard for my baby in order to provide the finest care possible.” I believe I was working really hard and with a lot of rages to alter my life. That’s how I finished the house,” Otieng explained.
She also had the money for her kid, which she chose to put to use in the construction of the rentals, which she recently completed.
According to the diligent Busia mother, she gave the rents to her five-year-old daughter to help soothe the grief they felt when their landlord shuttered their property owing to rent arrears.
“I gave her the houses to erase the tears we shed when the landlord locked our door.” “I pledged to make her a landlord at such a young age,” she explained.
