Will Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia resign?
It may be recalled that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) released a statement requesting that anybody seeking to be the party’s flagbearer for the presidency cease canvassing for votes until the proper time comes.
The party’s statements came after a number of ministries and persons in positions of power in the country began begging for votes during events at which they were invited to speak.
The leaders’ actions prompted President Nana Akufo Addo to issue a statement in which he urged everyone interested in running for president to relax and wait for the perfect moment to campaign or face being fired by him.
He also asked ministers and other officials in his government who wanted to engage in partisan politics to quit.
Many people are wondering if the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will quit as vice president so that he may begin campaigning for the party’s flagbearer post in the next election.
But the lingering concern has been what would happen to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia if his followers continue to openly perform his presidential bidding?
Will the President force Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to quit or dismiss him from the administration?
