English footballer, Jesse Lingard jams to Atumpan’s ‘The Thing’ song Days after meeting Gyakie – Watch Video
A former Manchester United player, Jesse Lingard has been jamming to a once-popular Ghanaian ballad by Atumpan.
According to a video released on his Instagram stories lately, the player’s car was blasting “The Thing” as he sang its chorus in a joyful mood.
The video, which has since been uploaded on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, has aroused a variety of opinions, with some relating it to Lingard’s previous encounter with another Ghanaian talent.
Ghanaian singer Jackline Acheampong, better known as Gyakie, recently uploaded a photo with the winger.
The RandB and Afro-Fusion artist tweeted a selfie of herself and the player with a football emoji as a message.
The tweet elicited replies from Ghanaians who appeared astonished by the image. Gyakie, who is mostly located in the United Kingdom, is now working on her soon-to-be-released album.
She performed at the Hype Fest concert in Germany over the weekend, which featured Ghanaian hip-hop performer Black Sherif.
Lingard, in the meantime, is a free agent after being released by Nottingham Forest at the end of the 2022–2023 season.
Some Major League Soccer clubs expressed great interest in the winger, but no official bids were made because he is currently without a team.
