“The $800k is not for my brother, its my own money” – Cecilia Dapaah makes a U-turn after late brother’s wife sued her for the money
Just a few days ago, the wife of the late brother of Cecilia Dapaah made a demand for $800,000 that her husband allegedly gave to the former minister’s family before he passed away.
According to reports, the money was in the possession of the former sanitation minister, who claims her late mother gave it to her for safekeeping. This $800,000 is part of the $1 million and other valuables that were stolen from the former minister’s home by her domestic workers.
Initially, the widow of the deceased brother, Irene Kensah, was unaware of the existence of the $800,000. However, when Mr. Adom Otchere came forward and claimed that this money belonged to the deceased brother of Cecilia Dapaah, Irene Kensah hired a lawyer to recover the owed amount.
To refute the intentional lies and defamation against the deceased, neighbors of the brother also came forward to share the story of the late shoe-maker.
In an attempt to avoid further problems and public embarrassment, Cecilia Dapaah has withdrawn the former charge sheet and presented a new one. This swift move aims to rectify the situation and bring a neutral tone to the ongoing dispute.
“Patience Botwe (hairdresser) and Sara Agyei (unemployed) sometime in the year 2022 at Abelemkpe in the Greater Accra region and within the jurisdiction of this court, did dishonestly appropriate cash the sum of Eight Hundred Thousand United States dollars ($800,000) the property of Cecilia Abena Dapaah”
Cecilia Dapaah has withdrawn the first charge sheet. This is the amended one.
