A 34 years old nurse in Italy; Daniela Trezzi , has been reported to have committed suicide after been diagnosed with the virus.
According to reports she was one of the nurses in the intensive care unit at Lombardy, one of the worst-affected regions in Italy.
After Trezzi was diagnosed with the virus, she was put into quarantine. A general manager from the hospital she worked at claimed Trezzi had not worked since March 10 and “was not under surveillance.”
“Each of us has chosen this profession for good and, unfortunately, also for bad: we are nurses,” the nurses federation said in its statement.
Trezzi’s death is now under investigation, according to local media reports.
