Gloria and Glorine Martels, 14-year-old twins, dropped out of school about a year ago to pursue mechanical skills.
Gloria explained to DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa that their passion for the job drove them to it, and that their parents were supportive because their father worked in the same field.
“My father and uncle both used to work in this industry.” They wanted us to finish school first, but we were constantly rushing from school to job.” “Eventually, they decided to let us learn,” Gloria explained.
Glorine stated that their long-term goal is to work as Army wheeled vehicle mechanics.
“We want to be soldiers in the future.” We will return to technical school after five years of on-the-job training.” Glorine pointed out.
Their Master and trainer at work had reservations about their work ethic, but they proved him wrong.
